President's Message

Welcome to the Huntsville NCMA Website!

A message from our President!

Welcome to NCMA Huntsville!

I hope that you are as excited as I am to kick off this program year! As Chapter President for the 2018 - 2019 Program Year, and on behalf of the Huntsville Chapter Board of Directors, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to NCMA Huntsville Chapter.

We are thrilled with the outstanding services and benefits the Huntsville Chapter offers to its members.  We look forward to continuing to build on our 54 year history of community, education, and partnership. I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve as your President and I will perform the duties of the office ethically and honorably. Our mission and goals are not only to serve and educate our members and the entire contract professional community (both government and industry) as a whole, but also to be and remain as a chapter of excellence based on integrity, mutual respect, collaboration, networking, training, mentoring, leadership, transparency, and financial responsibility.

Our Vice President of Membership, Lexi Carpenter surveyed our membership and the Board of Directors valued your input. This year our focus is going to be serving our members and contracting professionals in the community with increased education events and networking opportunities. Our luncheons will be held bi-monthly at Redstone Atrium to allow more opportunities for our members to earn CPEs through a variety of education events. Serena Forbes is serving her second year as Executive Vice President of Programs and will continue to provide speakers and educational topics of interest to contracting professional. We created a good balance between educational and social events.  We want to maintain our current membership of over 700 members by providing value and at the same time attract new members by staying relevant. We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces each month!

To further our objectives, we will work to bridge the gap between industry and Government contracting professionals. It is important to our collective success to bridge gaps and promote collaboration. There are many benefits to be had from enhanced collaboration between government and industry, including better relationships built on trust and channeled into productive interaction.

I look forward to meeting each of you throughout this year. Please bookmark the Chapter’s Website at http://www.ncmahsv.org/ and check us out on LinkedInFacebook, and Twitter. Reach out to us if you would like to see additional programs or events. We are always looking for new ideas!

As one of the largest chapters in the country, NCMA Huntsville cannot present such an array of offerings without the hard and dedicated work of its many volunteers, Board of Directors, and Board of Advisors. The chapter’s sponsors also play a key role in the accomplishment of goals and development. We hope that you will consider joining our team and volunteer.

Lastly, my heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation to our past presidents and volunteers for their service to the Chapter over the past 54 years – thanks to each and every one of you. I look forward to continuing the programs set in motion before me and growing the Huntsville Chapter. My vision is to make it one of the best NCMA chapters and a true chapter of excellence.  If you have any questions or want to get more involved, please contact me at president@ncmahsv.org or call me at 256-679-4910.
